Gordy can probably be a pain in he ass if you dont like to read many posts.
BUT even in my poor english (yes I am Norwegian) I got an urge to find out
more about this guy.. If I just
had that magazine.. Even with my poor english I did not find anything wrong.
It just made me interrested and that I think was the point of Gordy's post.
Maybe I am wrong and no I dont read all the posts at the Soaring exchange
(digest member).
Or did I miss a post here!
Anyhow can someone please send me a copy or take a picture of that Column?
Hilsen (Regards) Jojo

Hey Gordy,
I was going to sent this in private but I decided that I would send it =
to the list. Your comments about my column were totally out of line and =
it demonstrates the person that you really are. (Not that we didn't =
already know.) You have demeaned me and someone who revolutionized a =
segment of our hobby, Dick Barker.
FYI, my columns are a result input from the readers coupled with current =
contests and events. Must of those who fly discus have no idea how it =
evolved and this is why it was requested and written. With only =
everyother month coverage it tough to cover everything I'd really like =
to.
Regarding my "homebuilt," perhaps you will someday (probably not) will =
experience the satisfaction of completing such a project. I get many =
emails wanting more information on the project. Since you decided to =
slam me on mentioning my "homebuilt," you inadvertently slammed several =
other model soaring pilots who are in the ranks of "homebuilders." I am =
currently writing an article on the modelers who are homebuilders for =
publication in Model Aviation. You can skip reading that since it won't =
have any meaning to you. Obviously you are totally unaware of the =
crossover of membership between the AMA and EAA. Both have a significant =
influence on each other.
I think my contributions to the hobby over the past 40 years in several =
phases of RC speak for themselves. What have you done? Nevermind, nobody =
cares.
Finally, the next time we meet in person we WILL be having a =
conversation. That moment may come sooner than you think since I have =
the ability travel around the country, when I want, at 200 mph in my =
HOMEBUILT.

Nope Dick Barker won't be at either event!
But you can find out a lot more about him (shoe size, deodorant prefs, =
etc) in this months MA Soaring Column!
Darwin's out did himself this month, even though he is itching to talk =
about his homebuilt aircraft in every possible issue, he has stayed on =
the RC Soaring course with another article worthy of publication in RC's =
'official' magazine.
The story tells how Dick was walking out of his house one day carrying =
a Monarch handlauch, when he stubbed his toe on a sprinkler head that =
was stuck up in the grass, that caused him to spin around cursing, and =
that old handlaunch got whipped up on to the roof of the old hippee VW =
van he was driving back in those days....and an idea was born....
Okay so maybe I didn't get the details exactly right so you probably =
should head to the can, open up this month's magazine and read it for =
yourself!
