R/C soaring certainly has a lot of competition from other sources of entertainment and as Richard Burnoski just mentioned the cost of traveling away to a contest has become a larger burden in recent years. This current thread started by Mr. Woodcrafter, Ray Hayes, has generated some needed conversation on things to do to help bolster the turnout at contests whether they be a seeded MOM, an open winch, random callup or ???.
