I think that it is a very well written and informative article about the 2.4
ghz Spektrum system. I would only add two comments that I feel are important.

Sherman's article only addresses the JR 921 receiver or the Spektrum 9000 which
is the same rx but in a different colored plastic case. The JR 921 or the
Spektrum 9000 unlike the other offerings from Spektrum are the only two
receivers that offer a true Failsafe. Smart safe only holds the last servo
position, whatever that maybe while Failsafe takes the servos to a preset or
failsafe position. Personally I see nothing "Smart" about Smartsafe.

I recently lost an AVA that I had been flying on 2.4 ghz. The AVA had been on
Spektrum's 2.4 ghz system for several months with no problem. Then one day
"WHAMO" no control at all and it went straight in from about 300 feet. Yes I
performed a successful range check prior to flying. I sent everything off to
Horizon and they could find no problem. Then I read a post by Don Richmond
where he stated that he nearly lost his AVA which was also on 2.4 ghz. After
recovering his AVA he noticed that one of the little lights in the satellite
receiver was not on. He felt that he had lost his bind on that receiver. I
don't know if it is possible but it makes sense to me. Anyway Don rebound the
receiver and has not had the problem since. Now, after turning on the power to
my new 2.4 ghz powered AVA I check each receiver to make sure that all of the
lights are lit. There are two in the JR 921 and Spektrum 9000 and one in the
satellite receiver.

And thats what I think.
