The nylon gears work great in a vibration rich environment like heli's. This
is where the SA excels. In a heli the metal gears wear quickly due to the
vibration. Our sailplanes have no vibration and the metal gears should last a
long time.

It's probably over kill but I use metal in EVERYTHING regardless of its place on the plane. When your dealing with an airframe that costs $1200, $1500, $1800+ the difference cost in the servo is miniscule. Even on my built up stuff I have far too much time into them to have an equipment failure take it out. If I smash stuff thats one thing, but if I scimp on a control surface controller and thats what causes the failure....(prior experience sadly enough when I was flying power) thats much harder to live with.
