The failures were on 2 different winches. All winches are Tim McCann
winches, all have Cole Hersee solenoids. The only difference is one winch
has a Ford 6V motor, the other has an Injoy 6V motor (not the new ones). We
run with 12v batteries. We have replaced the solenoids with the same Cole
Hersee part number. All have worked. When you are launching a full house
Unlimited sailplane you would lug the motor down so we know this is not the
case. I'm not knocking Cole Hersee solenoids, before these 2 incidences we
have not had a single failure.
