Daryl does make an excellent point that a detuned TD winch with a narrow spool & braided line, might cause some issues with heavier stronger planes.
Isn't that the objective?? Keep lines from breaking and strong planes from launching high.
In the end what I know is that no matter what you do to the winches the same guys are still going to win. The sad and hurtful truth is that they are just better pilots than the rest of us.
