Brian, you are right on the spot. KISS is always a better path. Why do we keep
circling KISS while looking for the ultimate fix ?

How about a bright LED or strobe light
inline with the switch. Mounted under
the wing, even if you don't do the hookup your self, you always look
at the
hook.
