I am a big fan of X-Plane by Laminar Research. It is real flight sim software
for the mac, some versions are even FAA-approved for flight training, and it
is also used by the folks at Scaled Composites to simulate and train for
operations of their spaceship one and spaceship two rocket planes and their
mothership carriers. Rutan has a full scale mockup of each cabin with X-Plane
running in the windows.
The latest versions of X-Plane have some RC models in them already and a
viewing setup that is like an RC controller's POV. I don't know that they have
a scale model RC sailplane in it yet, but they DO have a number of real
full-scale gliders in there. You can download X-plane for free and try it
for
15 minutes before it locks up your controls and makes you reboot it. But you
can try the 15-minute periods as often as you need to sample everything, then
unlock the program by paying online and getting the unlock code.
X-plane also comes with a program that lest yo build your own plane using
real aerodynamics and physics, so you "could" build any RC glider you wanted
to.
A website called X-Plane.org is a crossroads where users share free models
they've made or modified, worth a visit all by itself.
