As anyone that has experimented with 2.4Ghz transmission can tell you, it is simply not realistic to expect solid reception in the 2.4GHz realm without multiple antennas. The need for spacial and polarization diversity is too great. I was temped by XPS several times but happily remained skeptical and never acted on my impulses.
