Well, sealing the foam all over is going to add a lot of weight. Perhaps the
upper wing surface would be enough.
If you just seal over and around the close edges of the decals, it's not so
bad. Perhaps balsarite or artist's gesso or modpodge decoupage clear glue (
I think personally all three of these are more or less the same thing) will
work for that. Water-based polyurethane could perhaps work but might require
multiple coats; again, might add too much weight.
