Hey guys,

We lost JW to one of those places where the toilet water circles the other
way, but he's still represent'n for us Americans! Doing the right thing,
being a friend to our fellow soaring enthusiasts! JW did a lot for a lot of
us
along the way, and he's continuing to contribute to RC Soaring by helping the
guys in NZ get a team to the F3J Worlds....the same any of us would do if we
had the chance I'd bet!

I had a chance to fly with some of the Les 'r pilots down there a few years
back and they went out of their way to get me some soaring in and to help me
try for my first LSF4 task...a 60min flight. Good guys all for sure.
(Excellent pilots, with mad skills way beyond mine). Its not a huge place and
just
like here the wives don't allow much in the way of RC soaring spare change
to be spent, and as JW points out below their association isn't that huge and
so there isn't a lot of budget left to send teams to distant places.

I know you've all sent our USA F3J team your beer money, so how about
sending a bit of your Starbucks stash to help the friends you haven't had a
chance
to fly with ...yet?

Keep in mind its a pretty small island so don't send change, we wouldn't
want it sinking into the ocean before the guys get a chance to fly in
Istanbul!
$20 from some of us goes a long way toward getting our NZ friends up to the
Worlds ... (no one should miss an opportunity to see our Team win! ;-).

So dial up Pay Pal and enter some cash....Its pretty simple actually, you
just type click on Send Money, put in JW's email address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]
(mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) ) and hit enter. (by the way 65NZ $'s is $50
US)

I did :-)

New Zealand is sending its first ever full team to the F3J world
championships in a couple of months. The team is composed of Scott Chisholm,
Les
Stockley, and Sven Zallberg as the pilots, Paul Chisholm as helper, and myself
as
team manager.

Due to our antipodean location, the travel expenses are quite high compared
to most other countries teams. The majority of expenditures to travel and
compete are paid for by the team members, with a small but much appreciated
grant from the NZMAA (New Zealands equivalent to the US AMA) along with fund
raising efforts such as a raffle and t-shirt sales to partially defray the
large
costs for fielding a team at the world championships.

Best Regards,
