After the USA National World Air Games 2009 Selection Contest that was held
in Poway this Friday a week ago, the top 16 pilots eligible for an
invitation at this time are as follows according to Guy Revel of the
FAI/CIAM:

According to the short list of 8 top placers at Poway, the present (partial)
ranking is as follows:

Nation World ranking Best 2 contests out of
Sacha Monnom BEL 616,23 2
Oleg Golovidov USA 547,72 1
Massimiliano Sacchi ITA 524,96 2
Ricardas Siumbris LTU 400,00 1
Mark Stockton RSA 374,54 2
Kevin Botherway NZL 374,17 1
David Claeys BEL 308,11 2
Stephane DuPonsel RSA 298,61 2
Paul Anderson USA 273,86 1
Stefano Corno ITA 229,13 1
Carlo Cobianchi ITA 214,56 2
Olivier Leroy BEL 212,74 3
Vitalijus Pilkionis LTU 200,00 1
Alan Smith RSA 194,72 2
Joe Wurts NZL 187,08 1
Phil Barnes USA 182,57 1
Alberto Consolini ITA 179,16 2
Lionel Smith RSA 161,80 2

So if everything was stopped right now, there would be 3 US pilots invited.
This will change with more contests, for example there are two more
scheduled in New Zealand, more contests in the US would almost certainly
increase the number of US pilots at WAG.

Note: Most of the other pilots have all flown in two contests.
