About a year ago I said that FSS was threatened with our flying site
becoming a golf course. Our field is located in a county park, we have used
our flying site since 1994. The county held 3 public workshops on purposed
uses of the park which included our field. Our members attended the public
workshops and spoke against the golf course. The majority of the public
attending the meetings are against the golf course and indicated they wanted
open space. I am confident we will be able to continue the use of our field
as the county decided to drop the golf course. We probably will have to
share the field with others but should be able to work out some
arrangements.
