Michael “Augie” McKibben of Crystal, MN, an enthusiastic, meticulous and
innovative builder of sailplanes in the Genie line, will now exclusively
be offering plans and parts packages with latest CD for these
scratch-buildable, state-of-the-art sailplanes.
For the time being, I’ll remain available to respond to builder’s e-mail
questions. Along with Augie, experienced Genie builder Loren Blinde of
Lincoln, NE will also be available.
A reorganized new website http://www.geniebuild.com/harleys_genie.html
will be hosted by Augie. It incorporates newly updated construction
text, new files, drawings and pictures, providing thorough, step-by-step
details to leisurely and completely finish a ship.
These events assure valuable and consistent support for builders,
independent of my longevity. Click on the “Home” link on the left of the
opening page to access related information Augie has put together.
The unique, bagged wing, very competitive Genie line ships help fill a
neglected niche between moldies and kitted designs that can’t deliver
“glass slipper” performance.
For starters, to see what these ships look like and are about, look at
the PHOTO GALLERY and the “WHAT’S A GENIE?” file. You’ll see that
nothing is built like these rugged ships.
A means to post pertinent and useful builder input to the website is
anticipated. This will enable builders to contribute ideas to further
advance and refine the line and, in one place, view worthy comments and
suggestions made by other actual Genie builders.
Information about the all-internal Rotary Driver System that makes the
cleanest wings in the business possible is in File A6. Augie will be a
source for the injection-molded Kimbrough couplers.
Friend Jay Decker has my enduring appreciation for his years of
patiently hosting and updating the former Genie website. Over 40,000
views attest to healthy interest in the art of scratch-building
sophisticated airframes. The new website shows the way better than ever.
If, in the past, you ordered plans and parts from me and would like a
latest copy of the construction CD, I offer one for $5 postpaid. I’m at
26 S. Roosevelt, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
