TG. . .thanks for writing. Delightful. Part 2 sent to RCSE has not shown up after two submissions, so I have not yet sent Part 3. All 3 are in the Thermal section of RCGroups at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90582. That is the link to Part 1. Parts 2 & 3 would be higher up in the list. 3 has a picture of the tip section of #5 Smooth Genie Pro that displays the kind of finish attainable on the Genie line ships if instructions are followed.

TG. . .about music. I have an extensive library of the music you love. Although my first wife and I disagreed on about everything, she is an extraordinary pianist and musical arranger, specializing in doing rich, full new arrangements of those great songs of the 40's. I have many of her CD's and from them have created what I call "Personal Albums" of selections I particularly like. I've prepared a document that lists some 20 of my Personal Albums with song titles. If you like I'd be glad to e-mail you (or anyone) the list to look over. I can burn CD's. All I ask is reasonable reimbursement for cost of blank CD, cover, packaging, postage, gas to the post office and time spent.

Harley,
I have a friend who is 86 years old who always has a quip to share.
This story brought one of his to mind which is;
"Ahh the good old days...you can have em!" I have always disagreed with him on that because in my opinion, the good old days also created some of our best people, and more than likely some of the best experiences. One of my familys experiences is: My Dad back from WWII water skiing with my uncle Jack and family, my Uncle Jack wearing my Dad's leather flight jacket (Dad flew nose gunner in a B-24 in the south pacific for 113 missions, and is my life long hero) Dad says that was the last time he saw that jacket...I could have killed my Uncle Jack. That thing belonged in a museam, not on some yahoo water skiing in Utah!!! My Dad got me a Pacific Ace Rubber band free flight model and that was my introduction into building. Dad bought them back in the day for $.25, the one he found for me was $4.25. But it did the trick. At the age of 44 the music I listen to is Big Band/swing music. Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller and the list goes on. It's better music than most stuff today because it required something to create that most artists today have no clue about...talent. Harley I really appreciate your story. It's a good read and a nice trip through what got us to where we are today. I also appreciate everything you have done for us as a soaring community. Your passion has fired the imaginations of countless people in your life time and we owe you a debt. I wonder what it will be like in 80 years when these are the good old days? I'm sorry this was so long, but I appreciate you taking the time to read my ramblings. Thanks very much for sharing this, now I need to try and find the other parts. After reading the first part I need to see the rest!!! Tom Bean
