Just leave it off.  At the slow speeds flown by the light planes, I am of the 
opinion
that sealing the gap is not worth the weight of the material.  Besides, at 
the low
Reynolds #'s we fly at, the flow is turbulent by the time it reaches the gap.
My side by side tests with Wizard lites show no benefit from the gap seal, 
either.
