This might be a good place to provide some feedback on advice I received on
this topic before Christmas.

I was looking for an inexpensive tx to recommend to a friend for his
grandson's Christmas present for a flying wing. My concern was that my
experience with 3 very different wings all required more aileron throw than
elevator on the mixed elevons. It didn't seem likely that the Hitec 3SS
would have that adjustment so I inquired on RCSE regarding the Flash 4.
Several people told me this would be no problem. It appears the correct
answer is:

   3SS No
   Flash 4 No
   Flash 5 Limited Yes

My Futaba Super 7 (7UAFS) allows this ratio to be set up in the elevon mix,
leaving the dual rates to be set as you wish. None of the listed Hitec txs
do that (can't speak for the Prism). On a Flash 5, the dual rates can be
set to reduce elevator throw relative to ailerons. But.... The high
position of the dual rate switch is fixed at 100%, the low position can be
adjusted. In order to set the ratio of elevator to aileron, you must fly on
low rate, therby negating any use of switchable dual rates. The Flash 4 and
3SS don't have dual rates at all, so there is no way to set the elevator
throw seperately from the ailerons.

An expert pilot can fly fine with any of these txs using the computer in his
head to compensate for the differing roll/pitch sensitivity. For a beginner
or a fumble thumbs, however, this can be a frustration which they cannot
even isolate, its just hard to fly. The Flash 5 seems to be the minimum tx
for flying wings for learners. It also has expo and some flap cability.

Fortunately, due to other considerations, my friend wound up with a Flash 5.
