I need some help troubleshooting my Hobbico Accu-Charger.
This is the "old" black box version - not the new peak
detector charger in a white box.

When I select discharge for my four cell flight packs,
the charger begins the discharge cycle, it continues for
5-10 minutes then switches to charge (indicating that the
packs are discharged to 1.05 volts per cell, and ready to
take a full charge). When I check the supposed fully
discharged packs, they read 5.3 volts. When I perform
the same discharge/charge cycle on my friend's identical
Accu-Charger, it indicates that the packs have over 200
minutes left (not 5-10).

I placed a DVM in the circuit with the pack while it was
connected to the unit. The pack reads 5.3-5.4 volts.
When I press the button to begin the discharge, the
voltage drops to 4.3 volts. I have cleaned the slider
switch that selects the number of cells (3, 4 or 5 cells)
with tuner cleaner.

Any suggestions from users of this unit or electrical
savvy fliers?

TIA
