I have a blast with my Zagi THL, it is light (10.5 oz), fairly easy to fly
and almost indestructable. The other good thing is that it is very unlikely
to hurt anything even with a direct hit.
Great plane for learning hand catch!

You are correct, in the wind it becomes very hard to controll the launch angle
with fingers on trailing edge. I often end up either throwing straight up or
right into the ground. Not good.

Look in the May 2000 issue of "Model Aviation". In the RC Soaring section
there is a story on foam wings and it has mods for better throwing of the
Zagi. He put in a plywood brace at the CG and a small thumb hole forward
so he can get a good grip on the plane and the thrust is right at the CG.

I am still looking for a slope here in central FL.
Some fair slopes on the coast but that is a bit of a trip for daily flying.
