I've just completed the first flights on a home brewed HLG with flaperons. Initial flight testing looked promising, but I've got one problem/question area. The turning ability/response with the flaperons is good, up until a point. After that point has been reached, you can "feel" in the sticks that if you push it much further, nasty things are going to happen. It feels as if a tip stall is right around the corner. I know there is much trimming left to do in terms of CG position and control throws. If anything, at this point the ship is nose heavy. My question is with flpaerons, what amount of differential would be a good starting point? On a ship with conventional ailerons, 2 to 1 has always been a good starting point for me, but with flaperons, I'm not so sure.
