I'm building my first HLG and have a question about the finger hole design. The plans show a simple hole in the bottom of the fuse just behind the ply finger peg. I wonder if I shouldn't put a 3/8" tall "bulkhead" at the front of the finger hole to give more width to push forward against, and to add support. And also a horizontal piece at the top of the "bulkhead" to keep the finger from sliding upward. Made from 3/32" ply this shouldn't weigh much, but then I'm fretting about weight on this plane. I did something similar on my Highlander foamie/slope plane and having a small "pocket" for the finger to fit into seems to help the launch when I chuck it off the slope. --Bill RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
