Yes, The bearing loads on the tube for the wire joiner of the flying stab
are more than the surrounding wood will take. Eventually the stab will start
to wobble as a result. This can be avoided, lowering the stress by
increasing the bearing area. Instead of one piece of 1/8 o.d. brass tubing
in the fin, nest several short pieces of KS brass tubing together to build
it out to 1/4 inch o.d. where it mounts in the fin. The weight gain is
negligable on this size model.

The 1/8 light ply for the fuselage sides can be replaced by rock hard 1/8
sheet balsa for a better strength to weight ratio. This will make the
fuselage less likely to break in front of the fin.
