I must say that they both have very good safety characteristics but the big difference in the normal flying mode is the delay. PCM delays the sig till it's received a complete chain the after the check sum at the end if all is well it sends the pulses to the servos. That all takes 35 to 60 ms.depending on # of channels. IPD remembers the last pulse train and as the train comes in it does a compare and sends onto the servos its pulse with only a 1 ms delay. It is just about as fast as PPM. When I do my famous rolling 360 in my 1/4 scale ship, I was unable to use PCM because the plane was too far behind me so I always used PPM for my pattern ship and lived with the less safe condition. But now I can have the best of both worlds, safe and fast response. Ernie Pritchard Multiplex Repair USA N26237 RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
