Hi Doug & RCSE,
The Point is open to anyone, anytime - we don't discriminate! In fact, I've
had several ask if they can fly non-scale/PSS planes at SOAR UTAH 2000. The
answer is yes! You won't be flying at the same time as the 6 meter planes,
for obvious reasons, but there will lots of flying for all types of planes.
Lots of flying/learning/sharing/buying/selling/BSing and a good time will be
had by all.
Our club, IMSF, has a HL Golf tourney tomorrow, but I'll post your note to
our club list server in case some of our members are going to the Point. If
you want to meet up with the locals, just drop me a line of how they can get
in contact with you.
Go to http://www.silentflyer.net/mappotm.jpg to see a map of how to get to
the POTM. It is really easy. Take I-15 (the main fwy through Utah) to the
Salt Lake/Utah County line, get off the freeway and onto the frontage road
and follow the signs to the flight park(s). Keep in mind there are two main
sites. One on the South - typically best in the a.m and another on the
North - They are connected by a 1 mile dirt road.

P.S. Got an email from the para/hangliding on 8/1/00 that indicated the
airspace around the point - and the whole Wasatch range - was restricted
while they were dropping flame retardant in the area. Never seen that
before. Sheriff came up and brought the hang/paragliders down - not sure
about R/C, maybe someone with first-hand knowledge could chime in. Anyone
can call the briefer at 800-WXBRIEF and get a rundown on the closed
airspace in the area.
