Bob,
The new design that I have been working on is called the 'SideWinder', (just
look at my last name to see why I picked that as a name :). It is a full 59"
tip launcher that really performs!
To do tip launching right, you almost have to build one from scratch. The
wing should be reinforced at the tip you are launching from, (double glass),
and the tail needs special design considerations as well because of the way
it's launched, (see Dick Barkers web page and look at his tail).
Launching takes some getting use to. You'll spend a couple of days just
getting the hang of it!
Is it worth all the extra effort??? You bet!!! Launch heights are
spectacular! Much higher than normal launching!
