Just to clear up a little confusion, because I just got a 10x as an upgrade to a 8103, and I am enjoying it quite a bit. It has the capabilities to do all you have listed, but it may be a little heavy for HLG use. I use a 783 for HLG. >The 10 X looks like it has great options for only one type of aircraft, >power planes or helicopters, it is designed for. What if you like to fly >many different types. Can the helicopter radio work for a power plane or >glider, or the aircraft radio work for a glider or helicopter? My 10x has instructions for setting up power planes and helicopters. It has no application guide for gliders like the 8103, nor does it have all the cute presets like the 8103. But the programming is very flexible and I have a better glider setup than I had with the 8103. >Does anyone out know of someone using a JR 10 X for allthree type of >aircraft or does the JR 8103 work better in this situation? From what I can see, the 10x can do everything the 8103 can do and more. Things that I appreciate in the 10x over the 8103. First off, two more channels for your scale ships. Being able to assign any switch. Having %250 of sub trim range. Having those camber sliders on the upper corners of the TX, which means I can constantly use camber there, and use the throttle stick for landing mode, and not depend on a switch to toggle between the two modes. Being able to adjust servo speeds. Being able to use a lot of gear from my 8103 like the flexible whip antenna and all the crystals I have invested in... 8-) I was able to get proficient in the 10x programming in two evenings, because of my familiarity with the 8103. The nice thing about the 8103 is the presets for the glider mode which really make programming easy, but you can accomplish the same thing with more flexibility on the 10x.
