Reality check in order...
perhaps, and just perhaps, on a thin winged relativly low area f 3b model, there might be a perceptable difference in performance with RDS, I suspect on a large scale or thicker sectioned wing no pilot could discern any difference in performance. Do it beacause it looks cool on a scale glider, or do it to generate conversation at the field.
 
Just to add, Selig' work is also largely misinterpreted by the modeling "public". External validity of such laboratory tests (on airfoils) is extremely limited and subject to real world variability, (moments, planform, areas not withstanding)

Here is a link to a very appropriate article regarding the drag induced by external aileron linkages on model sailplanes.  This article is one reason I purchased the RDS system.  A friend of mine will be the first one in our group to try it out on his Fun1.
