Terry, I got a good copy of the CIAM Report off of RCSE. Thanks. Joe just posted something about practicing towing without a pulley. I blew out a knee back when I could still run, by doing an F3J tow downwind without a pulley. If the launch is downwind I think it is vital to build up maximum line tension before launching. Years ago I did not have a tow person at the NATS and Joe towed for me. After the launch he came back and patiently explained how important it was to build up plenty of tension before releasing the model. He also passed on the hint to ping off the line while there was still tension, at about 70 percent of max height. Once the model has reached maximum altitude on tow, the tension drops off and all you can do is release at that height with no zoom. I posted this a few years ago but with no stake and no pulley it is worth reposting that the pre launch tension and the ping off tension are vital to a good launch. Thanks Joe.
