No kidding! 5 guys and no less than 13 planes. Not the planes all flew, but most did. The crew included Greg, Mirko, Tim, Tom and Charlie (who was visiting from Winnipeg, Eh?). The assembled planes included a Vindicator, a Prodij, a 2M Fox, 2 Vern Hunt Stingers, 2 Vern wings, a big one off Vern sloper, a Sparrow, a Multiplex Dart and a Greg and Russ designed SH-50. There were a couple of others that I do not know the names of. See more about the SH-50 project at http://www.gtdesign.net/soaring/html/project/project48.html if you are interested in a good 50" sloper that is as happy on a small inland slope as it is tearing it up in the big wind. The Southwest direction meant an inland slope near the town of Theresa that is a bit shallow with bumpy lift instead of the bluffs on Lake Michigan, where the lift is much smoother, but the Prodij flew great. It penetrated well even unballasted with some reflex dialed in. The Vindicator was great too and the SH-50 was the first plane out in the AM when the winds were more like 20-30 MPH. Charlie had several flights with his Sparrow. Mirko had the big Vern Sloper going great until a radio FUBAR almost did it in. Tom had a big thermal job out in about 40 MPH and it was flying OK, but looked like it could have been loaded up with some ballast. -- Greg Smith Midwest Sloping http://www.gtdesign.net/soaring RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
