Litco confirmed my order 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 37 seconds after
I placed it (2 seconds after window opened).

I requested that Litco confirm receiving my payment, which they did
7 days after I made my request. Given the Canada Post to U.S. Post
handoff of the letter with my money order, I found this delay to be
reasonable.

No. I composed an e-mail about 5 months before the window opened,
and set it to be autmaically delivered at the required time. I was
in a meeting when the e-mail order was sent to Litco. I had actually
forgotten about it, but I had CC'd myself to remind me.

I don't know. I would guess they could go by timestamp but by wall
clock time.

No idea. I think my order was 1st in the run given the order
number, but this isn't conclusive.

Two seconds seems pretty darned close to right on time :)

No idea. They accept orders for about 14-17 production runs.

My order window closed after 4 hours.

See above. I slept well, thank you :)

Actually, every order placed is basically a "backlog" order
with shipping in about 6 months. I'm pretty much used to
this with the work I do; we order parts that often have a
14 week or longer lead time.

The Alpha4 was worth getting. I don't regret getting one.

You might want to e-mail Litco and ask these questions directly.
I've found them quite responsive.
