Go to a hardware store that stocks a good supply of metal letters and numbers for house signs, mailboxes, and such. Locksmiths sometimes sell these too. Buy a set of the ones you commonly use (like your AMA number). While you are there, pick up a small pane of glass (or mirror), a bottle of window cleaner, and a rubber squeegee. File and sand the edges of the letters and numbers so they are smooth and nick free. Lightly spray the glass with glass cleaner, and put a piece of covering - backing removed - on the glass. Squeegee it flat with no air bubbles (work from the center out). Place a letter or number on the covering, and trace it using a clean and sharp new knife blade. Wait for the glass cleaner to evaporate from the covering, then apply the letter or number in the usual manner :) -- Andrew E. Mileski RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
