I haven't done HLG, but I'm guessing the point is that you want to be able to sky out nice compact gliders in potentially small open areas with minimal equipment. Seems to me the join-wrecking Olympic sportsmanship stuff is secondary to the main goal. But I'm sure some people really enjoy that physical aspect of competition. Has anyone tried some sort of CO2 cartridge JATO launch assist scheme, where a small standard compressed CO2 gas cartridge is held in place only by its own thrust and falls off near the point of diminishing return? I admit it is wild speculation, and probably wouldn't work because of the weight of the cartridge vs. the energy you could get out of it. But it would be really neat if it did! -Paul RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
