Would you consider the Rutan Proteus a canard or tandem wing? I have an
e-powered version on the drawing board. It will have a main span of 150". The
layout is inspired by the Proteus but not an exact copy. It will be powered
by an Astro 40 superbox in a rear mounted pusher config. I am concerned about
3 issues:
1. CG placement
2. Front wing incidence angle. The main
wing will use an HQ2-10(11" chord). The front wing will use an
HQ3.5-12(9"chord).
3. The use of anhedral tips. I understand
that on the real A/C these are used to reduce interference with the broadband
transmitter payload.
I like the way they look and will use them.
Any comments would be appreciated.
