This happened to my 8103.

I, at first, scoffed at this idea, since I went in and checked the fuse a
number of times. The fuse was good, and it snapped into place nicely each
time I was done.

But in thinking further about it ... snapping into place, and fitting in
place *are* 2 different things. So, I went in and bent the prongs on the
fuse hold together, snapped the fuse back into place, and viola'...we have
a functioning radio, and all the previous symptoms have disappeared. Seems
solid as a rock now.

My thanks to all for the suggestion. (And, by the way, the most popular
referral for repair service was Horizon.)
