If you're not in a big hurry, why don't you get an epoxy sample kit for $10 from Raka (www.raka.com). I've used a fair amount of this stuff on boats and a bit on models. Seems good. Good service, too, I think I've received my orders in a week or two. I think System 3 has a sample kit also. Your resin is polyester, I guess? My S.O. calls it balso, too, even tho she knows better.
