Hello,
Joined army in October '54. GI bill was going out at end of year, left
High School to get it. 11th Airborne, attended PM school in Ft. Lee, VA
became a rigger and gyro'ed to Germany. Lost two A2 gliders because I got
tired of lighting the DT fuse. Last saw them thermaling toward France. Was
really astonished by simplicity of metric system. Loved the beer, food and
women. Acquired goal of GI Bill for college, became a Photojournalist. Now
after 3 heart attacks and a defibrillator I KNOW our Veterans Administration
to be one of the best in the world.
