Before we all get numbed with discussions about my RDS concept, I'd like to interject another subject.
I am wondering if any of you fellows make it a point to regularly do cardiovascular exercises to keep fit for pulling strong high-starts or running after and returning chutes after repeated winch launches where no retriever is used? A couple of friends and I were doing that today at a sod farm. For that purpose and for general overall good, I've been doing regular daily brisk walking for 4 years a long a paved path that runs along a creek though my town. Prior to getting into that, I could barely walk a 1/2 mile briskly without about passing out. Now I gotta brag a little. I gradually got in shape to walk a measured mile in 15 minutes, then 14, then 13 and just yesterday, I did it in 12:23, substantially exceeding a prior best 12:48. I was puffing at the end, but quickly recovered and felt so darn good, tingling all over, with the heart pumping and the sweat running out like crazy. The thing is, I'm no kid with my 81st birthday coming up in February. I once had a Nordic Track, but it got so boring I gave it away to the Goodwill. Unless the path is iced up, I'm on it, rain, shine, fog, snowing, wind. . .any temperature. The birds, other wildlife, the stream, foliage changes. . .new people on the path. . .it's all so much to look forward to, everyday. What do you guys do, especially you older buzzards, say 70 or older? Harley Michaelis, 26 S. Roosevelt, Walla Walla, WA 99362, ph. (509) 529-2562 RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
