Greg. . .the 1" wide, curved slats found on those plastic window blinds work well. Cut a strip about 3/8" wide along a machined edge and bend it slightly along its center line over the edge of an aluminum L extrusion. Slit between the skin and the core to "spot weld" it in with thin CA, or if hollow, figure out how to similarly attach it under the skin.
