got this one off-line. Cut the flaps just like you would with a foam core, the wing isn't sacred...its yours.

It won't hurt the strength as there is very little force on the trailing edge.

Just use tape hinge and don't get nuts about the gap.

I was going to use a razor saw and try to end up with a living hinge.  I am hoping that there is a layer of Spectra or peel-ply in there to act as the hinge.  I used peel-ply on my Renegade wing and it worked great.

Hi Martin,
Just wondering if you got any response to your question...I've been considering doing the same to my Mini Ellipse.  Not sure it it's feasible or if it will help any.
Thanks, Scot

Subject: [RCSE] adding flaps to molded wing

I have a Nemesis that I am getting ready to reassemble after destroying the original fuse.  I'd like to add flaps to the (hollow molded) wing witch currently is built with ailerons only.  I love flying, but dread high speed landings.  I just built a wing with flaps for a Renegade and love landing it.  Is it feasible to add flaps?

Thanks

Martin C
