I have an R/C AeroChopper program from Ambrosia Microcomputer Products. It is an old one (1987) for a Mac SE/30. The Mac is now broken (I'm in the market for another SE/30 if someone has one). My particular model of the R/C AC is only for the SE/30, though they have made them for many models of Macs.

Looking on the web, I find a long article telling about the new version of this program and how good it is for learning to fly a helicopter. Mine does that and also has sims for aerobatic planes, gliders, etc.

As did mine, the new one comes with a Futaba transmitter case that plugs into your computer so you get a very realistic simulation. My grandson learned to fly with this simulator and from his first flight with a real model did very well. My granddaughter was learning to fly with the sim when the computer conked out.

R/C simulators are a painless way to learn to fly well enough that you wreck fewer models, and they are absolutely advised for aspiring model helicopter pilots, I'm told, at least those not already stickwise.
