Mr..Carr, The LSF had nothing to do with the AMA rule change, for RES... which is the only "Official AMA" event that does not allow skegs. NO other events are affected by this rule at this time. YOUR RC Soaring Rules committee, put this rule in place and no one not even you apparently objected.
The rules committee has recently changed membership and leadership. Thank you for volunteering the LSF to provide, what you are calling leadership, however, there is already a method in place for rules changes and the LSF is not part of that process. In case you forgot, we administer, an Personal Achievement Program, and help the AMA run the Nats, because we are the only group that can do it. That is because of the great volunteer base that we have. The LSF is not going to assume anyone else's role, cause or problems ...lest we end up going the way of other now dormant organizations who did try.. Its not our job to change the rules, !!
