Nah I disagree.  RC is way more expensive.  The reason is that I seem to never have any resale value to my RC gliders, yet my full size planes seem to only go up in value!   All those broken parts, wings, line, etc...all seems to add up.     Nah...too excited from today's weather here in Maryland.  Must by tainting my thoughts.  Got an hour flight in the Mooney where I hopefully got some secret spy pictures of the east coast F3b team working their muscles in Lancaster, and another hour aerobatic/manuver/non thermal flight in the glider.  Amazing how rusty the reflexes get after 2 months of annuals and bad weather!   Time to scrounge up some cash to get that Icon and Sharon outfitted...spent too much on the full scale.  Damn RC :)- Jason ----- Original Message ----- From: Quiet Man To: Rick Bowen ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, March 30, 2002 10:28 PM Subject: [RCSE] Cost of Soaring..WAS...Icon Lite I did a quick calculation of my cost/month for flying full-scale as opposed to R/C.  So far, without getting anything remotely state of the art like an Icon (my glider is 30 years old) I have averaged spending approximately $1,000 month for 20 months.  That number will only increase if/when I get the chance to get "serious" about full-scale, like when my kids are old enough to go to school, and I have more free time...
