I spent most of yesterday (Saturday) at Toledo's Seagate Center visiting the Weak Signals Model Show...
Judging from Saturday's crowd, Toledo is still the king of all the consumer model shows (you guys from either coast never believe til you make the trek)... the usual mix of sailplane vendors was there; chicago sky, SOBOX (canada), trick RC, while NSP and Hobby Lobby were there with lots of electrics & slo-fliers while the guys at DJ aerotech held a crowd around there booth interested in "road-kill". Jim Bags were there as well as George Joy with the "serius charger" line... I got a chance to visit with folks at the major radio company booths; JR, Sanwa/airtronics (they were showing a new sub-micro servo which looked very similar to JR's 241), and Futaba... yes Karlton was also there with Multiplex too... when you take the ARF type sailplanes out of the static display there were a couple very nicely built models on display as well... I was very taken by Dave Pratt's (cinc., Oh) scratch built beauty... on to the people... I did spend some time at the LSF booth as well... got to visit briefly with Jack & Karen Strother (LSF prez & 1st lady), Ed Wilson (VP), and Dana Flemming (2002 NATS E.D.)... most impressive was seeing LSF Sec. Jim Deck who's recovery appears to be moving along quite well.. Doug Barry made the trip too and it's always great to see him... the swap shop was as packed as I've seen it in years too... lots of goodies for any hobby interest up there...
