I painted the bottom of a "Spectre" wing and V-tail with
good results. I used "KRYLON low odor Kids Tuff" spray paint. Dries
to the touch in 30 minutes.
One pointer. Mask well for over spray, this stuff hangs
on real good (no need for primer). If you try to remove overspray by
washing (as recommended within 20 minutes) it just makes a mess. My
wing was porous and paint seeped through the trailing edge to the upper
surface. Not to worry. After the paint is good and dry, take
some 600 grit wet sand paper and just and off the overspray or smudges.
Works like a champ.

Subject: [RCSE] Re: DLG Darkening
I would not paint DLG
wing with Krylon. The skin usually is very porous and it will desolve the
foam. Use something waterbased, Or foam friendly. You might try ink.
Subject: Lightweight way to Darken HLG Wing After much high
altitude flying with my DLG this past weekend, I'd like to be able to darken
the bottom of the wing to aid visibility. Does anyone have any tips on
how to do this without adding much weight since it's a DLG? I was
thinking of a light coat of black Krylon or even black Krylon primer (might be
more opaque). Does anyone have a feel for how much weight a thin coat of
paint would add? I don't have an accurate enough scale to run tests
with. Thanks, Randy ------------------------------ End of Soaring V1
