We received a 1/4 scale Wilga from Etienne at Icare Sailplanes last
Friday.
Very nice. Great gelcoated glass-work and scale detailing on the
composite fuse, cowl, gear(s) and flying surfaces. All bulkheads are
installed during lay-up, and lots of carbon in the appropriate places.
The cabin windows are all installed, with the windshield and rear window
removable.
The wing is built up sanded and covered, with the sheeted control
surfaces matched and drilled for their respective locations. The rudder
is molded, and the stab/elevator are sheeted. Everything has been
covered in white Ultracote. Craftsman have taken the time to accuratley
fit everything so there is not much work left, kinda like putting
together a moldie.
Given our altitude and size of sailplanes, I'm looking at installing a
60cc single-jug. Everything is there, including decals...we look forward
to towing with it.
