I am not sure what safety issues you are referring to, but this plan will
work. But, it does put a lot of load on the retriever battery dragging
the line through the grass. It is much easier to use the retriever to get
the line in as it is falling and not drag throught the grass as much. We
use a pair of switches on the foot pedal, one for the winch, the other for
the retriever. Once the tow is over, rotate foot and step on the
retriever. Let off once the line is on the ground, and then finnish after
the flight is over so as not to take one's concentration off the model in
the air.
