There has been several posts on how flying sailplanes can help you become a better pilot. I couldn't agree more.
However if you want to become one of the elite pilots you MUST learn to use the rudder (on full house ships of course). Uncouple the aileron mix and go for it. I took me about a year to become proficient (knowing which direction to push rudder while inverted without thinking too much about it). Once you start using your left thumb, you feel like you don't have full control when you switch back to coupled ailerons. Don't believe me, then give it a try.
