Dave, I'll add to the advice that doesn't tell you which plane to fly. Look around you! Since most of us can't go out and buy one plane after another, do the next best thing. What are the pilots in your areas throwing in the air. What shows up at your local contests? What is working for them in your air? It will probably work for you and you can get expert help locally.
