Yesterday I flew a Tsunami owned by Graeme Clark, a Canadian F3J team member who placed 6th at the 2002 F3J WC's and who won the 2002 NWSS Tournament September 8th. Graeme's plane was very well trimmed and his entire setup was to my liking. The weather was overcast with little wind and weak lift. Having spent a significant amount of time flying the Stratos, the first thing I noticed was how "light" the Tsunami handled, yet it was responsively like the Stratos. Based on my limited flight time, it appears that the Tsunami has superior low speed and minimum sink performance when compared to the Stratos. And, judging by Graeme's towering launches and high landing scores, the Tsunami will become more popular at contests than the Stratos over the next few years. If I had been considering purchasing a Stratos for a TD contest plane, I now would be asking about when my Tsunami was going to be delivered...
