Gentlemen, I sympathize with Tom Hoopes' loss of his Super V, it is irreplaceable. However, as to the scoring, I suspect there were quite a few errors of this kind. On a personal basis, when I checked the score sheets at the completion of the contest, I found that I was listed with two scores, one in RES, which I flew, and one in Overall. Each score was different! When I brought this to the attention of the scorer, he looked at it and said that he would "check it out" and correct it. Apparently he did, for now I don't have an overall score, and the lower posted score stands in RES. Now, there is no way I could have won a trophy at the Fall Fest: I just didn't fly well enough on a competitive basis. Still, it was my best showing in the years I have flown there, and I would have liked a more accurate picture of how I did, compared to the other flyers. So, here is my remedy for the future: If I fly in this contest again, I will keep track of my score and WRITE IT DOWN after every flight! That way, I will have a definite record of my result! I realize that with that many flights, mistakes are bound to happen. Overall, the CVRC did a splendid job! Still, I miss Stretch. Dave Darling Modesto CA
